The school of chemistry and materials of Guizhou education university was formerly the department of chemistry established by Guizhou education univeristy in 1980.In March 2009, with the approval of the ministry of education, Guizhou education college was transformed into a full-time undergraduate college and renamed Guizhou normal university. In the same year, the department of chemistry was renamed the college of chemistry and life sciences. In July 2018, the college of chemistry and life sciences was adjusted into two colleges, and the college of chemistry and materials was formally established.
At present, the college has 754 students and 45 faculty members, including 6 professors, 23 associate professors and senior experimenters, 15 doctoral students and 3 doctoral students. Have "materials science and engineering" provincial top cultivate discipline, "applied chemistry" feature at the provincial level key disciplines, "physical chemistry" provincial key support disciplines, "functional organic molecular characteristic key laboratory" province department of education, build between colleges "zhongke testing training center", "anshun city concrete admixture engineering technology research center" subjects such as platform.
The school has four undergraduate majors, namely chemistry, applied chemistry, material science and engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering. The total area of teaching and research laboratories is more than 5,000 square meters, and the total value of instruments and equipment is more than 10 million yuan. There are 1 provincial primary and secondary school experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial first-class course, 14 normal education practice bases and 24 non-normal education practice bases. The college has won 3 national natural science foundation projects, 42 provincial and departmental scientific research projects and horizontal cooperation projects, with a total research fund of 4.2 million yuan. He has published 216 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, including 20 SCI papers.
