The 7th SFLEP National Foreign Language Teaching Contest was held at Shanghai International Studies University from November 4 to 7. Zhang Yu, teacher from the School of Foreign Languages of our university, won the first prize at the national level. This achievement broke through the historical records of Guizhou Province in this kind of high-standard contest, winning the honor for the School of Foreign Languages, our university, and our province.
The SFLEP National University Foreign Language Teaching Contest is the largest and the most influential foreign language teaching event. The contestants in finals were composed of 58 division champions selected from more than 1,000 colleges and universities all over the country. The contest featured 2 rounds of competition: teaching activity and impromptu lesson explanation.
With excellent English literacy, strong thinking ability and teaching design ability, Zhang Yu, consequently, conquered the judges and the audience to win the first prize, which has enhanced the confidence of our teachers, encouraging them to take part in the competition with other high-level contestants. Besides, it also built a bridge for the academic communication among universities.
