On December 26th, the closing ceremony for Guizhou 2017 Overseas Chinese Teenagers Root-Seeking Winter Camp was hold in the music hall of the school of arts in which Liu Baochang, the Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs (overseas Chinese) in Guizhou Province, Linhu Rongfeng, the Vice-president of Guizhou Education University, Wu Jun, the Dean of School of Chinese Language and Literature, Zhang Ting, Secretary of Youth League Committee, Tao Xiuzhu and Liang Rui, the Deputy Directors of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and 111 students and leading teachers from Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia attended. The ceremony was host by Zhao Yao, the Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Guizhou Education University.
At first, Linhu Rongfeng, the Vice-president of Guizhou Education University made a speech, he mentioned that students had known the Chinese culture through ten-days winter camping, wished them to deliver what they learned to friends in order to engage more overseas Chinese to know our motherland and Guizhou, increase the interests to learn Chinese culture, hence push forward the development of Chinese language and culture education exchange. Also, Linhu Rongfeng expressed thanks for the trust and support from the Office of Foreign Affairs in Guizhou Province.
Then came with the speeches gave by leading teachers and students, they spent 10 more days learning Chinese Martial Arts, Calligraphy, Chinese Language Arts, viewed Asia’s biggest waterfalls, Huangguoshu Waterfalls, they all fell love with China and Guizhou, they would like to become an ambassador to spread Chinese culture, interact with root country, and tell well Chinese stories after returning home. They also expressed their thanks to all the faculty and staff.
Liu Baochang, the Deputy Director summarized the winter camp activity in the speech with great sincerity, hoping that all students can bring what they learned about China and Chinese language and culture come back, keep learning Chinese history and culture, injecting positive energy for individual growing, remembering their Chinese roots and inviting them to visit Guizhou to travel and learn again.
At last, the ceremony was ended with a wonderful performance made by the university’s art troupe and students of the School of Foreign Language and Literature in a happy and harmonious atmosphere.
