In order to fully implement the notice of Accelerating and Expanding the Opening Up of Education in the New Era issued by the Ministry of Education and other departments. China Center for International Education Exchange (CCIEE) actively promotes the diversified, wide-ranging and deeper development of the international exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and British universities. The China-UK Talent Training Plan Project Launching Meeting and China-UK University Cooperation Meeting were held online from May 25 to 26, 2021.

Zhang Yao, director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of our university and relevant staff participated in the online conference through ZOOM platform. Participants discussed around the international cooperation and exchanges, communication between teachers and students, mutual recognition of credits and other projects between China and UK higher institutions, which aimed to construct platform for cooperation with the British universities, to introduce the high quality of higher education resources, to promote establishment of comprehensive cooperative relations, and to strengthen the talent training and teacher exchanges and cooperation in the field of scientific research between China and UK higher institutions.

During the meeting, our university had a one-to-one communication with the representatives of the University of Portsmouth, the University of South Wales and Sheffield Hallam University. We got to know the basic situation of the three universities and exchanged views on the exchange programs between teachers and students, and the intention about Sino-foreign cooperation in education. After the meeting, we will continue to follow up the contact, discuss the specific cooperation details, try to reach a cooperation consensus, and expand new cooperation partners and fields for the our international exchange and cooperation.
