On the morning of May 16, President Wang Qikang of Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology in Taiwan and his delegation paid an exchange visit to our university. Party Secretary Shi Peixin extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings to the delegation of Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology. President Wei Wei, Party Committee member and Vice President Ren Jie had a cordial and friendly discussion with Taiwanese guests in the conference room on the second floor of the Information Building. Zhang Yao, Director of the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation, Wang Yu, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Materials, and Liu Xun, Dean of the School of Biological Sciences, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Ren Jie, member of the Party Committee and Vice President.

At the meeting, Wei Wei made a welcoming speech and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the school and the breakthroughs and developments achieved by the school in recent years in terms of its history, orientation, international exchange and cooperation, research achievements, innovation and entrepreneurship, and student activities. All the participants watched the latest Guizhou Education University communication film together. Mr. Wang thanked the university for its warm reception and introduced Taiwan Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology from the aspects of special disciplines, scientific research and exchange programs. The leaders of both sides unanimously said that both schools are universities for the cultivation of applied talents, and the disciplines and specialties have a strong complementarity, and the two schools have a good basis for cooperation and a broad space for cooperation. We hope to take this exchange visit as an opportunity to focus on cultivating high-level applied talents, and carry out multi-level and multi-dimensional exchanges and explorations in talent training, teacher training in joint scientific research and cultural development.

Then, Zhang Yao elaborated on the history of cooperation between the two schools and put forward the next proposed cooperation plan in terms of mutual student exchange, teacher training and scientific research cooperation. Wang Yu and Liu Xun introduced the situation of their respective colleges and had an in-depth discussion with each other on student exchange, industry-university-research and school-enterprise cooperation and internship base construction of relevant majors.

Finally, Ren Jie said that the friendship between the University and Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology has been long and deep, and the personal visit of President Wang Qikang and his delegation fully reflected the importance that Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology attaches to the cooperation between the two universities, which will certainly enhance the friendship between the two universities and promote further cooperation between the two universities in related fields. After the meeting, the two sides exchanged gifts and the meeting was successfully concluded.

The relevant persons in charge of the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation and the School of History and Archives accompanied the Taiwanese guests to visit our Guizhou Education History Museum, Yinshan Academy and other special study sites of the school.
