On the morning of November 13, a delegation of 20 young teachers from Taiwan, who participated in the intangible cultural Exchange Week, visited our school for an exchange and discussion. Organized by the Department of Education of Guizhou Province, the event, with the theme of "Culture with Root · Hand in hand towards the Future", aims to actively build a platform for youth exchange and jointly promote the exchange and inheritance of cross-Straits culture. Zou Xiaoqing, member of the Party Committee and vice president of the school, Peng Hong, Minister of the Project Department of Guizhou Education International Exchange Association, attended the exchange forum. The principals of the Teaching Affairs Office, the Department of Student Affairs and seven main departments attended the forum. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Yao, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the University.

 

Zou Xiaoqing introduced the development and changes of our school in recent years from the aspects of school history, the basic situation of the school and international exchange work. She expressed the hope that the young teachers on both sides of the strait will take this activity as an opportunity to dig deeper into the value of intangible cultural heritage and integrate it into the cultural and educational exchanges between the two sides, so as to further deepen the communication and understanding between the two sides and promote mutual learning.

 

Liu Wenlong, head of the delegation, expressed his gratitude to our school for its warm reception. He said that this activity allows teachers from Taiwan schools to travel and study in Guizhou, deeply understand the results of Guizhou's rapid development, personally feel the beauty of Guizhou landscape, and experience the local cultural customs, and believe that young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can gain precious friendship from this activity.

 

At the meeting, the two sides watched the publicity video of Guizhou Normal University; Professor He Junqing from the National Taitung University opened the symposium with a shared introduction. Yuan Chuan, director of the Education Development Research Center and Vice president of the School of Education Science, Zhu Jiwei, vice president of the School of Physical Education, and Zhao Yumei, teacher of the Provincial Experimental Middle School, exchanged speeches. Through the exchange, the two sides learned about each other's educational models and concepts at different stages of education, discussed their respective characteristics and specialties in education and teaching, and the future direction of cultural inheritance and educational integration, laying a good foundation for future practical cooperation.

 

Accompanied by staff from the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the University, the delegation visited Guizhou Education History Museum, Yinshan Academy, College Students' Growth and Development Center, school art practice Workshop (aesthetic Education Practice Base), teacher vocational skills Training Center and other special investigation sites. We strive to demonstrate to Taiwan compatriots the colorful cultural charm of Guizhou, the campus culture construction and the experience of education and teaching management from multiple perspectives, such as the development process of education on the land of Guizhou, the situation of our school, the work of our students, and national cultural skills. In the activity, our school has repeatedly won excellent performance of the synchronized rope skipping team for the visiting group brought a wonderful rope exercise performance, the magic of skipping skills display into the appropriate national elements, attracting the visiting group praise.

 

This year, our school has been carrying out exchanges with Taiwan universities, in addition to receiving three groups of Taiwan, exchange students to Taiwan, Taiwan youth learning camp and other projects are also in progress. This exchange activity in Guizhou has further enhanced Taiwan compatriots' understanding of Guizhou education and our university. We look forward to more opportunities for educational exchanges between the two sides in the future, and work together for a better tomorrow of education in Guizhou!
