To study abroad is not easy. Now, let’s tell you what we’ve experienced in China.
On September 5, the Knowledge Contest on Chinese Culture for Foreign Students from ASEAN Countries of China-ASEAN Youth Sports & Cultural Festival was held in Guizhou Normal College. Ten colleges performed Chinese traditional folk opera, Chinese Songs, Chinese Ethnic Dances, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Kungfu with their unique understanding and expressions.
President Li Cunxiong, Vice President Linghu Rongfeng and President Assistant Xia Weidong of Guizhou Normal College and other leaders attended the event. Xinjiang Normal University, south China University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Wuhan University of Geosciences, three gorges university, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and guest delegates from Cambodia and related education institutes and schools were invited to watch the contest. Some famous experts are also invited to be the judges of the contest.
President Li gave an opening speech, saying that Guizhou Normal College has successfully held two sessions of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week since 2012. This year, Guizhou Normal College undertakes two activities of the Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. With this platform, we’ve established partnership with universities and institutions in Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia, which is a good start for further exchanges and cooperation. President Li Cunxiong hopes all contestants can deepen understanding, enhance friendship and cultivate emotions to let youth to bloom during the campaign.
Through fierce contention, Guizhou University, Honghe Normal College were awarded the first prize with the total score of 405. Kunming University of Science and Technology, Zunyi Normal College, Guiyang Vocational and Technical College second prize. Guangxi Medical University, institute of technology of profession of Tongren, Guizhou University for Nationalities, Yunnan Agricultural University, College of Tongren won third prize. Guizhou Television Station, Guizhou Daily, Colorful Guizhou, and Guiyang Daily interviewed and reported the contest.
" China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week " has been successfully held in Guiyang, Guizhou for six sessions. Which is an important carrier to promote the opening-up of Guizhou province, especially the international exchanges and cooperation of education and human resources development in Guizhou. Our new government set 2014 as a cultural exchange year between China and ASEAN, hoping to enhancing social and cultural exchanges. For the 7th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, we should base on the principle of international diplomatic strategy and innovation, drawing the previous experience and focusing on the future. The China-ASEAN Youth Sports & Cultural Festival is thus specially designed, and Guizhou Normal College undertake one of the activities---the Knowledge Contest on Chinese Culture for Foreign Students from ASEAN Countries.
This activity took the form of Chinese culture knowledge contest to help young students of ASEAN countries understand China in culture, mind, and emotions. This activity also helps to enhance mutual trust and friendship and offer a stage for them to show Chinese language ability, which is also a good opportunity to learn from and communicate with each other.
At the same time, the activity set up an exchange platform for the international Chinese education among colleges and universities, which is helpful to improve the level of international Chinese education, especially for that in ASEAN countries. Guizhou Normal College has successful undertaken three activities of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. This year, we are honored to hold the Knowledge Contest on Chinese Culture for Foreign Students from ASEAN Countries, which fully embodies the trust of the provincial government and the Education Department. Guizhou Normal College learn from others’ experience and innovate to successfully hold this contest, contributing to the cultural and education exchange and cooperation between ASEAN countries and Guizhou or even China.
