In order to support international Chinese language education and meet the needs of overseas teaching institutions for international Chinese language volunteers, the Chinese-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education (referred to as the Language Cooperation Center) recruited about 1,140 international Chinese language education volunteers from 16 countries including Thailand in early March this year. Led by the Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Department of our university, we conducted extensive publicity and mobilization throughout the university, and finally selected 9 qualified teachers and students to report through individual application and recommendation of the university.

The Language Cooperation Center organized the written test and interview through professional knowledge, teaching skills, intercultural communication ability, foreign language communication ability and psychological quality. Three studens Bo Yugu, Luo Tiantian and Lu Xiaodie from the Major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in the School of Literature and Media finnally were selected as the first and second reserve members of the 2022 International Chinese Education Volunteers.

Among them, Bo Yugu and Luo Tiantian are reserve volunteers for Thailand in 2022, and have received the invitation letter issued by the Thai Ministry of Education. At present, they are participating in the online training for international Chinese education volunteers to Thailand, which is entrusted by the Language Cooperation Center and coordinated by Beijing Language and Culture University. They are expected to be sent to Thailand at the end of June.

The successful selection of the three students fully reflects the trust and affirmation of our students' ability, and also provides a broader stage for our university to better serve the development of international Chinese education.
