On the morning of March 6th, Santi Maensiri, dean of the College of Science of Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand, and 11 members of his delegation visited our university for exchange. This was the first foreign delegation to visit our university after three years of the epidemic. Our university ranks among the top ten universities in Thailand, with obvious advantages in science and technology majors. Shi Peixin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Ren Jie, member of the Party Committee and vice president of the University met in person in the information building. Shi Peixin extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand, and conveyed the regret that President Wei Wei’s not being here. Afterwards, Vice President Ren Jie, Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Office Zhang Yao, Deputy Director Zhang Bin, Du Biao, Deputy director of Party and Government Office, Professor Zhao Tao of School of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Zhang Yu showed them around our Guizhou Education History Hall, Vocational Skills Training Base for teachers, Yinshan Academy, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and other school characteristic inspection sites.
In the afternoon, Ren Jie had a friendly discussion with the Thai delegation in the conference room on the second floor of the Information Building. The Thai representatives attending the forum are: Dr. Santi Maensiri, Dean, Professor, and Doctor of School of Science, Suranlari University of Technology, Thailand; Dr. Ayut Limphirat, Administrative Vice President, Assistant Professor, and Doctor of School of Science; Dr. Khanchai Khosonthongkee, Vice Dean, Assistant Professor, and Doctor of School of Science; Physicist, Professor, and Doctor of Yupeng Yan; Prapun Manyum, PhD, Physicist and Associate Professor; Akanat Wetayawanich, PhD, mathematician; Kai Xu, Postdoctoral Fellow in physics; Zheng Zhao, Postdoctoral Fellow in physics; and three Administrative Officers Piyaporn Wongmanee, Sopavadee Raksungnoen, Phenkhae Petchmai. the representatives at the forum are: Du Hongbo, Executive Director of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Du Biao, Deputy director of the Party and Government Office; Zhang Bin, Deputy director of the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation; Zhang Yu, Associate professor of the School of Foreign Languages; and the staff of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Yao, Director of the Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Office.
At the meeting, the participants watched the publicity videos of the two universities. Ren Jie welcomed the arrival of Prof. Santi Maensiri and introduced the development and changes of our university in recent years from the aspects of the history of the university, the basic situation of the university, international exchange work and so on.She expressed the hope that the two universities could give full play to their respective advantages, focus on cultivating high-level applied talents in science and technology, and carry out cooperation in teacher-student exchange, student internship, teacher training and joint research platform, so as to enhance the friendship between the two universities and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Santi Maensiri expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He said that he was deeply impressed by the beautiful campus environment. He affirmed the achievements of our school and introduced the history, basic situation and professional characteristics of Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand. He looked forward to developing in-depth cooperation with our university in the fields of short-term student exchange, mutual recognition of credits and training of normal university students.
Then, Chen Feifan, a teacher from the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of our university, gave a report on the two consecutive sessions of China-Asean RoberMaster Challenge held by our university. Then the two parties had full communication and negotiation on the details of the framework agreement signed by the two universities and the related matters of cooperating to hold the RoberMaster Challenge.
The visit of the delegation from Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand not only enhanced mutual understanding and laid a good foundation for further cooperation between the two sides in subject construction, education, teaching and research projects, etc. The relevant departments and schools of the two universities will continue to maintain communication and contact on the basis of this meeting, and have in-depth discussions on specific cooperation details. Try to reach consensus and sign cooperation agreement as soon as possible to facilitate the project.
