On the afternoon of March 12th, Chen Xiaofei(Secretary-General of Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange), along with Siti Salina Mustaki(Senior Lecturer at the School of Educational Research, Universiti Putra Malaysia), Ridzwan Bin Che Rus (Head of the Office of Academic and International Cooperation, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris) and Sasigaran Moneyam(Lecturer at the School of Language Exchange, UPSI), visited our university for a follow-up exchange. Ren Jie(Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, Guizhou Education University) warmly received the delegation. The delegation toured Yinshan Academy, the “One-Stop” Student Community Service Center, and later held a seminar in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of the Information Building. Attendees included Huang Dan(Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean, Business School), Xiao Xiangping(Secretary of Party Committee, School of Education Science), Li Mingyong(Vice Dean, School of Literature and Communication), Luo Yong(Vice Dean, School of Foreign Languages), Jing Yanchao(Vice Dean, School of Music and Dance), Liu Xuexin (Director, Office of Academic Research) and Staffs of the International Office. The seminar was chaired by Zhang Bin(Director of the International Office).

At the seminar, Zhang Bin introduced the GZEU’s development history, disciplinary strengths, faculty resources and current status of international exchanges. She emphasized that GZEU will align with school-specific needs, integrate resources and advance international collaboration to create more international learning opportunities for faculty and students, thereby driving the GZEU’s international education to a higher level.

Ridzwan Bin Che Rus presented an overview of UPSI, highlighting its advantageous disciplines and achievements in international cooperation. Through sharing cases, he shared UPSI’s expertise in blended teaching methods and expressed hope that, building on last year’s visit by GZEU to UPSI, the two universities could further identify synergies in collaborative discipline development, joint talent cultivation and academic resource sharing, aiming to implement substantive exchange and cooperation projects with UPSI.

Then, during the discussion session, representatives from various schools explored partnership opportunities tailored to their disciplines. Topics included establishing a language research center, dual-mentor systems and adapting to the digital era.

Finally, Chen Xiaofei emphasized the original intention of the seminar and looked forward to the two universities taking this exchange as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation, formulate specific implementation projects, promote practical cooperation in the field of education between the two sides, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes in education. The seminar ended successfully.

This visit, facilitated by the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange, has created new opportunities for our university to expand international partnerships and cultivate globally-minded talents. In the future, both sides will work to implement the discussed initiatives, paving the way for broader prospects in international education collaboration.
