From April 28 to 30, Pan Yun, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President of Guizhou Education University (GZEU), led a delegation to Macau for educational collaboration and exchanges. The visit, supported by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial United Front Work Department, and the Guizhou-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Task Force, aimed to align with national strategies outlined in the Education Power Construction Plan. The delegation included Yu Lezheng, Dean of the Graduate School; Huang Dan, Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Business; and Xu Anti, Section Chief of International (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) Exchange Section, International Office
On April 28, during discussions with Macau Millennium College, Pan Yun highlighted GZEU’s strengths in intangible cultural heritage preservation and rural revitalization, proposing synergies with the college’s internationalized resources. Key collaboration areas included educational resource sharing, joint research, faculty-student exchanges, and leveraging Macau’s global platform for international education projects. Cai Zhiming, Vice President of Macau Millennium College, affirmed mutual alignment in educational visions and committed to advancing cooperation in cross-border e-commerce curriculum development, AI research, and international conferences. A Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) was signed to formalize the partnership.
On the morning of April 29, the delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of the Guizhou-Macau Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Social Research Center, jointly established by GZNU’s School of Business and USJ’s School of Business and Law. Witnessed by Ou Bolai, Standing Committee Member of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Huang Zijie, representative of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education’s Hong Kong and Macau Office; and USJ alumna Ou Jiaxin, Pan Yun emphasized the center’s role in fostering academic collaboration between mainland China and Macau. Luo Yali, Vice President of USJ, praised the rapid translation of strategic consensus into tangible outcomes and expressed optimism for the center’s impact on Guizhou-Macau educational synergy.
On the afternoon of April 29, the delegation explored partnerships in joint graduate supervision programsand faculty exchange initiatives with City University of Macau, reaching preliminary consensus on a framework for institutional collaboration.
On April 30, the delegation visited the Macau Institute of Management for collaboration discussions. At the meeting, Pan Yun proposed the co-creation of the “Greater Bay Area Basic Education Administrator Training Program”, aiming to develop an innovative model for teacher education through mutual learning in educational management practices and faculty exchange programs, integrating Guizhou’s unique strengths, Greater Bay Area expertise, and global perspectives. Tang Jizong, President of the Macau Institute of Management, expressed commitment to leveraging the institute’s international collaboration resources to deepen partnerships in student internships, digital economy, healthcare industries, and industry-academia-research integration, jointly driving high-quality regional economic growth.
During this visit, GZEU achieved fruitful results in collaborating with higher education institutions in Macau across key areas such as sharing educational resources, co-building research platforms, and joint talent development programs. Moving forward, GZEU will continue to align with the strategic plansof the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, as well as directives from higher-level authorities, to actively integrate into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. We aim to expand multi-level, broad-scope platforms for international education initiatives and contribute expertise and resources to synergize the advancement of the Greater Bay Area with the Strategy for Revitalizing Education in the Western Region in China.
