On March 24, a delegation led by Professor Liu Jiande, President of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, visited our university. Zhan Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, met with the guests. Vice President Zhao Shouying, along with representatives from the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Education International Exchange Association, attended the symposium. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Bin, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office.
During the meeting, Zhao Shouying delivered a welcome speech, introduced the university's development and its cooperation with universities in Hong Kong and Macao, and expressed the hope for deeper collaboration with the Hong Kong institute in areas such as discipline development, talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and joint course development. Liu Jiande introduced his institution's characteristic focus on application-oriented talent cultivation, noting the similarities in educational philosophy between the two universities and the vast potential for cooperation.
In the exchange session, the two sides had in-depth discussions on fields including arts, business, cultural creativity, sports, joint discipline development, and faculty-student exchanges. Consensus was reached on collaborative efforts in cultivating application-oriented talents, enhancing practical teaching coordination, and sharing educational resources. During the visit, the Hong Kong delegation also toured the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of GZEU and watched featured performances by students and faculty of the Physical Education School.
