In his speech, Qiu Guopeng noted that the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, rooted in Guizhou for many years, has become an important bridge for exchanges among schools, teachers, and youth in both regions. He emphasized that innovation and entrepreneurship education should not be confined to the competition arena. "We should bring the good questions discovered during the competition back to the classroom, transform outstanding projects into teaching cases, and encourage deeper involvement of industry mentors in talent cultivation, thus truly forming an educational path of 'promoting teaching, learning, and innovation through competition'." He encouraged young students to seek innovative directions from real needs, strengthen their professional foundations, broaden their international perspectives, enhance mutual understanding through exchanges, and grow together through cooperation.
In her welcome address, President Wang Shuqian, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the attending leaders, guests, expert reviewers, advisors, and participating teachers and students. She introduced the university's continuous efforts to deepen comprehensive reforms in innovation and entrepreneurship education, building a full-chain cultivation system encompassing "curriculum development, practical training, competition refinement, and project incubation." She stated, "Hosting this competition provides an opportunity for our university to continue building an open and shared platform for innovation exchange, deepen industry-education collaborative education, broaden channels for youth innovation practice and international exchange, and use innovation as a bond to foster mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and ASEAN youth."
Wu Hongchun, in her speech, introduced the development of the digital economy, industrial layout, and application scenario construction in Guian New Area. She noted that Guian New Area possesses industrial space, application scenarios, and a concentration of young talent and research strength. She expressed the area's active commitment to bringing real-world problems from enterprises into schools, supporting collaborative research between teachers and students, and facilitating the transition of viable innovative outcomes to industrial parks, connecting them with enterprises and subjecting them to practical testing, thereby providing more opportunities for the growth of youth innovation projects.
At the Championship Final, the shortlisted teams presented their projects one by one through roadshows, followed by on-site Q&A and comprehensive evaluation by expert reviewers. The projects covered frontier technologies, intelligent manufacturing, and regional innovation. The participating teams demonstrated the vibrant energy of youth innovation practice aimed at real-world needs, grounded in solid professional foundations, clear problem awareness, and open international perspectives. Expert reviewers from universities and enterprises posed questions and evaluated the projects based on technological innovation, application value, and development potential, providing guidance for further improvement.
After intense competition, the "Cryo-Electron Microscopy Technology Platform" project team from Peking University won the championship; the "Aurora Core World" project team from Guangxi University won the runner-up; and the "ROU" project team from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) and the "Precision-Driven Future" project team from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) tied for third place. Qiu Guopeng and Zhan Yong presented awards to the champion team; Wang Shuqian and Wu Hongchun presented awards to the runner-up team; and Nong Yunqi and Zhang Jianlin presented awards to the third-place teams.
Though the competition has ended, innovation knows no bounds. As a key featured event during the opening period of the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, this competition used innovation and entrepreneurship as a link to closely connect competitive events, educational exchange, and youth collaboration. The university will continue to leverage its strengths in teacher education and innovation-entrepreneurship education, integrate competition outcomes into talent cultivation, and deepen practical cooperation with Chinese and ASEAN universities in curriculum development, teacher exchanges, and project incubation, injecting more youthful energy into China-ASEAN youth innovation exchange and open regional higher education cooperation.
