Obama in Malaysia on Third Leg of Asian Tour

U.S. President Barack Obama has arrived in Malaysia, the third stop in his four-nation tour to strengthen ties with Asian allies.美国总统奥巴马抵达马来西亚,这是他亚洲四国之行的第三站。奥巴马此次出访亚洲是为了加强跟美国亚洲盟友的关系。

The president is expected to try to ease Prime Minister Najib Razak's concerns on Obama's Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. Malaysia is a close trading partner of China and has opposed parts of the deal.预计奥巴马总统将试图缓解马来西亚总理纳吉布·拉扎克对奥巴马的跨太平洋伙伴国贸易协议(TPP)的担忧。马来西亚是中国的紧密贸易伙伴,但是马国反对TPP的部分内容。

Before his departure from South Korea earlier Saturday, Obama spoke to American troops stationed in Seoul, telling them that the United States "will not hesitate to use our military might to defend our allies and our way of life.'' The president's comment comes amid threats by North Korea to conduct its fourth nuclear test.奥巴马星期六早晨结束对韩国的访问,他在离开韩国之前对驻扎首尔的美军官兵发表讲话。奥巴马说,美国“会毫不犹豫地动用自己的军事实力,保护我们的盟友和我们的生活方式。”在此之前,朝鲜威胁要进行第四次核试验。

During a joint news conference with South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Seoul earlier Friday, Obama said Pyongyang will get nothing except further isolation if it proceeds with a nuclear test.星期五早些时候,奥巴马总统和韩国总统朴槿惠在首尔出席联合记者会。奥巴马说,平壤不会从核试验中得到任何东西,只会使自己更孤立于国际社会。

The South Korean leader said Obama's visit sends a firm message that North Korea's provocation will not be tolerated.韩国总统朴槿惠说,奥巴马的访问传递了一个坚定的信息,那就是朝鲜的挑衅是绝对不会被容忍的。
