The theme for this year's Boao Forum was "The new future of Asia: toward a community of common destiny".

With the rapid development of economic integration, the trade volume within Asia has surpassed the trade volume between Asia and North America and Europe combined. More and more Asian economies have become the most important trade and investment partners of each other, and the need to improve cooperation within Asia is clear.

However, Asia still lacks a cooperation organization covering the whole region. It's high time Asian countries focused on their common interests for win-win results, which would not only benefit people in Asia, but also those in other parts of the world, as it would help fuel a global economic recovery.

As early as the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China wants to work with other Asian economies to jointly achieve the Asian Dream of peace and common development.

China and other Asian economies should work together to develop hand in hand as a community of common destiny.
